Anyone with any experience on water dragons?

We have 2 chinese water dragons, one is poorly and gone blind, his skin has grown over both eyes and cannot see. We put live food into the tank and his other half eats them all cause he can't see to catch them. (Greedy beggar) We have tried to force feed him in our hand but he just won't take it. What should we do? I hate to see him like this.

it sounds like he hasn't shed properly but without seeing him it's hard to say. Try getting some tepid water, body temperature, and gently soaking his eyes. Use a piece of clean cotton wool to do it. The skin should eventualy lift off easily. If this doesn't work you will have to take him to a vet, if you don't have one already phone around and find one that specialises in reptiles as some don't. It could be a one off shedding problem or there could be something missing in either his environment or food. Do you feed supplements, these are good for captive reptiles as they often don't get everything they need from what we feed them.

Hope this works, my favourite lizard was a chinese water dragon she was so tame and loved to sit on my shoulder.

Reply:Apparently, water dragons are shy... so a blind one just won't want to go near anything. The best thing probably to do would be to see a vet, if that doesn't work, get them separate tanks and feed them separately, making sure you put the food as close as possible to the blind one without actually having to force feed him. Hope that helps.
Reply:take a visit to the vets
