Does anyone know if bearded dragons can have there skin peeled while shedding?

I have had my beardie for like 7 months....love him to death....but before I got him I did a lot of research and a lot of books most of the time you will not need to assist in the shedding, except for around the toes and tails. It could constrict blood flow ad lead to death of cells in those areas. Then just soak him in a bath of warm water and peel gently away.
