Us marines and dragons skin?

the us army banned for a soldier to buy the dragon skin body armor but did the us marines ban it, if a marine wanted to buy it would the marines let him or does the army rule apply to the marines?

Us marines and dragons skin?
Dragon skin body armor was tested by the US Army and it failed miserably. It was penetrated by a dozen bullets under conditions where the current issue body armor stopped every bullet (one penetration would have caused it to fail the test).

It also has durability problems and falls apart when subjected to temperatures commonly found in Iraq. Another issue with it is that it weighs 20 pounds more than the issue armor - so that somebody carrying 'Dragon Skin' has to carry 20 pounds less of food, ammunition, water etc.
Reply:If it isn't issued or approved, you can't have it. Dragon Skin has not been tested and approved for US Military use.
Reply:The guy above me is correct. Dragon skin is the $h*t man!!!
Reply:The Corps wont let u wear unauthorized gear. Hopefully with testing and enough people say somthing things will change. I started wearing a camelback years ago under my flak in te field our 1st Sgt told me to take it off same as my danner boots both are now issued but when he wasnt around in the field i had them on. Of course he was a REMF and not a field dog
Reply:I have heard this a few times, and I have heard that they said the current body armor they have is more effective. Whether this is true or not idk, just telling what I have heard.
Reply:The corps will let you wear your own gear, as long as it does not interfere with your issued gear. if u have something that will go with your sapi plates, you can wear it, just as long as your sapis are still in full effect.
