My bearded dragon hasn't shed..?

It seems like it's been forever since the last time my bearded dragon shed it's skin.

I think I've had him for about.. 3 - 4 years now, and he's about 12 - 13 inches long..

Is this normal? Or is there something wrong?

My bearded dragon hasn't shed..?
As they get older they stop growing as fast and there for don't shed as much. Although with him being that old he's kinda small, and I'm pretty sure it's not because of the size of cage. I have never heard of that having to do with their growth until now... I've always heard that they will grow large no matter what size cage they are in and if they get too large in a small cage that they will bang their snout up against the side of the cage causing snout deformities. I've got 2 adult beardies one of them is in a 40 gallon breeder tank (and that's a little on the small side), and the other is in a 20 gallon tank (which I know is way too small, I'm in the process of finding a larger enclosure), but both beardies are the same size regardless of the fact that they are in completely different sizes of cages. The one in the smaller cage is actually 6 months younger, and there for should be a little smaller, but is not. Back to the original question though. The older they get the less often they shed. Maybe you have a different breed of Beardie, which could account for the small size. You can always find a reptile vet to give him a check up. The one we have here only costs $30 for a general exam, so it's not that expensive, and even if he seems ok it's nice to just be reassured. Hope this helps!
Reply:He probably just stopped growing. I'm no expert but I know they shed more during their younger years because they are growing fast. You should bring him to a vet for a checkup if you're that worried,
Reply:he is shedding, but they shed in small patches, which they tend to eat. So it's pretty common to look as if they don't.

Everything's fine, just watch for shed skin to get stuck around the toes, that can cause problems.
Reply:bearded dragon will only grow as big as his environment lets him.If he is in a small enclosure he may not shed anymore as they shed when they grow.
Reply:It's normal.
Reply:i have a bearded dragon and he used to shed non stop but now that he is getting older he does not shed as much. i think that it is normal.
