Is it illegal anywhere in the U.S. to buy or wear a military dragon skin body armor vest?

There are no laws against owning any type of body armor.

Wearing it in the commission of a crime is another story.

Dragon skin?
Reply:... pork skins are better ...
Reply:They sell this stuff at gun shows.
Reply:Only on the beach
Reply:Yes, if you intend to use it while commiting a crime.

If you need it for any other purpose, think about what you are doing to whom that would cause them to shoot at you. Change those behaviors, for the better. Most people cant shoot straight, and it will end up with an innocent being shot if you dont.

BTW, last I checked, Dragon skin was still being tested for military use. not actually in use, yet. So The answer to your question is there is no such thing as "military" dragon skin body armor. But I very well could be wrong.
Reply:Last I heard, not even our troops in Iraq were allowed to wear this stuff. Certain soliders had obtained dragon skin vests and were forced to stop wearing them. The army cited insuffient testing data or some BS, but real-life video of dragon skin's performance will make a believer out of you.

I don't know if it's illegal here... I doubt it, but certainly don't rob a bank with it or anything =)

If you use it in commission of a crime, plan on doing more time in prison. There is a penaty enhancer for commtting a crime while possessing body armor .
Reply:Laws reguarding body armor are similar to the laws that govern fire arms...

1) FELONS: Anyone convicted of a felony is prohibited from purchasing, possessing, or wearing body armor. A few states have a partial exception allowing non-violent individuals convicted of non-violent felonies to obtain and wear body armor legally, but the majority of states do not and forbid ALL felons regardless of whether the the conviction was for a non-violent offense.

2) Any non-felon can legally purchase and wear body armor, but see point #3. The majority of body armor manufacturers restrict their product sales to military and law enforcement personnel, but some do sell to the general public of civilian citizens.

3) COMMITION OF A CRIME: Though it is not illegal for (non-felon) civilians to wear body armor. The majority of states have laws that increase the penalties and jail time for individuals wearing body armor while commiting a crime.

Since you asked particularly about Dragon Skin...

Pinnacle Armor, the makers of Dragon Skin body armor, are still under review and their NIJ certification is temporary suspended.

http://www.pinnaclearmor.com/body-armor/...

The order forms are at the very bottom of the page, but I only took a quick glance and didn't notice a price list, it may be on another page.

Pinnacle Armor only sells body armor to Military and Law Enforcement and requier an ID Verification form.

You will most likely be unable to purchase Dragon Skin armor until the NIJ certification is reestablished and you must be a member of the military or law enforcement to do so.
Reply:Are you talking about green dragon skin or red dragon skin? ;)
